Stephen L. Segebrecht, MD, has been practicing otolaryngology head and neck surgery in Lawrence since 1984. He received his undergraduate degree here in Lawrence at the University of Kansas. He went on to medical school, also at the University of Kansas, receiving the Orr Surgery Award and AOA (Alpha Omega Alpha) Award for his high marks. After completing an internship at the University of Kansas Medical Center, Dr. Segebrecht did his residency in otolaryngology head and neck surgery at the University of Utah Medical Center where he developed a focus for surgery of the ear. He has been board-certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology and has been an active member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery since 1984. Dr. Segebrecht is the director of K2K (Kansas to Kenya), an organization that works in conjunction with several other organizations to achieve the Millennium Development Goals in Kenya. Dr. Segebrecht has made several trips to Africa providing medical care and implementing programs that help serve the local community. In addition to medicine, Dr. Segebrecht enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons. He is an active participant in his church and serves as a Boy Scout leader. He also enjoys spending time outdoors (hiking, canoeing, sailing, etc.) with his family.
